Reinforcement Mechanism of Fracture Grouting

Self drilling rock bolt's grouting belongs to pressure grouting and it has slabbing action. Reticular slabbing vein is formed by fracture grouting, aiming to improve soil’s mechanical property and water permeability, realize grouting reinforcement and water plugging. The followings are reinforcement mechanism of fracture grouting in different stratum environment:
1. Reinforcement in non-viscous stratum.
After grouting, seriflux will fill and cement cracks by slabbing and penetrating effect. At the same time, during chemical reaction, some chemical agents happen ion exchange with elements in stratum and form new material, which will help to enhance stratum’s cohesive force.
2. Reinforcement in viscous and consolidated stratum.
Under pressure grouting, seriflux overcomes shearing stress and tensile strength of stratum, makes it occur slabbing action in the plane, which is perpendicular to minor principal stress. Seriflux will penetrate and squeeze soil body, then chemical consolidation will be formed as skeleton of grouting vein. Veined seriflux concretion body, dense stratum and primary stratum form a composite foundation and together bear other external loads.
3. Reinforcement grouting for fractures in surrounding rocks.
Grouting can strengthen broken surrounding rocks, enhance integrity, bearing capacity and then reach goal of safe excavation and construction.
Self drilling rock bolt adopts dynamic pressure to grout and water cement ratio is 0.4:0.5. Grouting under dynamic pressure can form dense cement paste around self drilling rock bar. Pressure grouting makes seriflux penetrate cracks of stratum fully and helps to fracture grouting, then makes foundation stabler.
